The UNFCCC is the principal international legal instrument adopted by countries to address climate change. In addition to its substantive provisions, it includes procedures for the settlement of disputes between parties. This research analyses the relationship between the UNFCCC and other rules of public international law, with respect to countries’ responsibility for the adverse effects of climate change.
