Small Island Developing State Leaders met in New York to set a course for critical negotiating positions at UN climate talks in November. Top of their list is finance for climate-related loss and damage, and the development of a ‘multidimensional vulnerability index’ or MVI.

The Loss and Damage Youth Coalition is ramping up its call for finance to address loss and damage this year. Dr Donovan Campbell is a Lead Author of the ‘Small Islands’ chapter in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Working Group II report on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability to Climate Change.  He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of West Indies – Mona campus (Jamaica).
